Where it started
2020. Pandemic. Miami nonprofits couldn't tell their stories.
Greg Clark launched the Good Miami Project as a volunteer photographer — free professional portraits and program documentation for nonprofits who couldn't afford it. Over four years, GMP delivered 50,000+ images to 60+ organizations. Those photos amplified missions, supported Congressional testimony, and helped small organizations compete for attention.

But free wasn't sustainable. And photos alone weren't enough.
Organizations needed video. They needed podcasts. They needed someone who understood their mission, showed up consistently, and could translate their work into stories that drive awareness and engagement. So we built RiseWorks: the solution we wished existed.
Greg brought in Chad Tingle as Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer — a documentary and commercial director whose films have screened at SXSW, Aspen Shortsfest, and the Miami International Film Festival, and whose commercial work spans brands like Coors Light, Pfizer, and Oakley. Together, they designed a model that pairs Greg's nonprofit fluency with Chad's cinematic production discipline: embedded creators who understand mission-driven work and deliver at a professional standard.
The problem
An impossible trade-off
Mission-driven organizations spend 48% of creative budgets on coordination overhead. Stories go untold. Communities don't see impact. Mission growth stalls.

Agencies
World-class creative
$15K–$50K per project, transactional, no continuity

Freelancers
Affordable
Inconsistent, heavy coordination burden

In-House
Institutional knowledge
$120K+ for limited skills, bandwidth constraints

DIY
Cheap
Time-intensive, amateur quality, 68% abandonment rate
Our approach
Dedicated teams, not one-off projects
RiseWorks provides dedicated visual storytelling teams on an annual subscription. We show up month after month — not project by project. Our creators learn the mission, know the people, and capture impact as it happens.
Our StoryStack system turns every shoot into a content engine — one session generates 10–15 pieces across video, photo, podcast, and social. Clients get agency-quality production for a fraction of agency cost, with the continuity of in-house staff.
Why it matters
Visual infrastructure for civic abundance
In 1935, FSA photographers like Dorothea Lange built documentation infrastructure that made New Deal programs visible, fundable, and politically sustainable. The Missouri Photo Workshop preserved that tradition — teaching the 10–15 image essay: find an important story, build a narrative arc, document with dignity.
RiseWorks adapts this methodology for the multiplatform era — the 10–15 piece story portfolio across video, photography, audio, and social formats. Professional storytelling creates emotional connection, emotional connection drives concrete actions, resources expand programming, and programming delivers social and environmental outcomes.
Our creators
Salaried employees, not gig workers
Our creators aren't freelancers — they're salaried employees with benefits and career growth. Sustainable creative careers shouldn't mean gig-to-gig instability. We offer full-time salary, mission-aligned work, a clear career progression path, and training from Pulitzer Prize–winning photographers through our Photo Society network.
